Following the educational activities that took place last winter under the “Women’s project Hope” we organised a new specialised workshop in the Lavrio refugee camp, in order to qualify a group of women residents in professional soap making.
This course aimed to impart to the participants basic methods and techniques for large scale soap making as well as perspectives and good practices for the formation of cooperative working schemes.
The group consisted of 12 women from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, which included old residents (already introduced to soap making) as well as new comers.
The women were very enthusiastic and highly responsive to both practical and theoretical sessions and they were happy to contribute and collaborate.
The lessons were held in Greek and were translated simultaneously in Arabic, Farsi – Dari and French. We are very thankful to the DRC staff for the invitation, the cooperation, and the support with translation, infrastructure and equipment.
