Essential oils are mixtures of aromatic substances resulting from the distillation of aromatic plants and herbs. Essential oils contain all the volatile substances of the plant from which they come in a very concentrated form and have strong therapeutic and cosmetic properties. The use of essential oils is particularly widespread in the preparation of herbal and cosmetic preparations. The educational activities carried out in New Guinea aimed to give the people involved the opportunity to become familiar with the use of essential oils and to acquire the necessary knowledge about their applications so that they can integrate them into their daily lives.
