Soap making seminar

In this seminar, through the history of soap we approach the different methods of preparation and use. We explain the chemistry of saponification and the importance of pH. We study the properties of the oils used in saponification and the properties they impart to the resulting soap. While making soap we experiment with different colours, textures and fragrances using natural materials and analyse basic concepts such as the degree of saponification, overlubrication and soap curing. We are talking about the combinations of herbs and essential oils that give the soap healing properties. Finally, we talk about the most common problems that arise and the basic safety measures to be taken when making soap. This is a practical one-day seminar, lasting 6 hours.
